Public Health Inspector - Bilingual (P-R)

Location: Prescott-Russell Territory

Salary: $ 68,049.80 to $ 76,858.60 annually

Description of Job:
One Permanent Full-Time position. Working as a member of a Public Health Team, the incumbent will be responsible to carry out inspections, investigations, education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality and health hazards prevention; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.
  • Good communication skills in English and French.

COVID-19 Registered Practical Nurses (RPN)

Location: Casual positions in the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry and Prescott-Russell Territories

Salary: $26.00 to $29.39 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits plus 6% in lieu of vacation pay

Description of Job:
Individuals will support the Eastern Ontario Health Unit in its response to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary diploma as a Registered Practical Nurse.
  • Ontario certificate of competence for the current year (CNO).
  • Experience working with children.
  • Knowledge of infection and prevention control.
  • A minimum of 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Immunization experience is considered an asset.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages preferred, however unilingual candidates may be considered.

2 Dental Health Educators/Assistants Permanent Full-Time

Location: Prescott Russell Territory

Salary: $47,320‬.00 to $53,489.8‬0 annually

Description of Job:
The individuasl will work within a public health team to support dental care delivery to children, youth and seniors in a public health clinic. The individuals will also be responsible to promote oral health in the community at large in accordance with mandatory program guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized program in dental assisting Level II.
  • Previous experience in a private dental office, teaching, or a public health environment is preferred.
  • Current certification with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, at Level II.
  • Hold NDAEB certificate (National Dental Assisting Examining Board).
  • HARP (Healing Arts Radiation Protection Commission) certified.

Manager, Information and Technical Systems (P-R)

Location: This position may be assigned to the Prescott-Russell or the SD&G territory based on preference.

Salary: $85,607.09 to $100,713.81 annually

Description of Job:
1 Permanent Full-Time Position The incumbent will be responsible for the effective leadership, management and supervision of their assigned staff and related service delivery. S/he will plan, develop, install and monitor information and communication technology and related services for all offices of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit and will support the Health Unit’s mandate and obligations by identifying and anticipating future information needs that will contribute to the enhancement of organizational systems performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, commerce, or engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in systems analysis, data administration, software engineering, network design or computer programming, including supervisory experience
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) designation would be considered an asset
  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevance experience
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN based information systems and network administration
  • Demonstrated abilities in the areas of needs assessments, program planning, research, evaluation, and education
  • Technical management, information analysis and hands on experience of computer hardware/ software systems
  • Evidence of project management skills – including the ability to prioritize, set timeframes, organize resources, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of administration, leadership, management, and supervisory roles
  • Ability to work independently, interdependently and as an integral team member
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and lifelong learning

Location: Casual positions for the SDG & Prescott-Russell Territories

Salary: $23.16 to $26.17 per hour with 12% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation pay.

Description of Job:
The individuals will assist with the installation and maintenance of information and communication technologies at the Health Unit.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary school education in a program dedicated to computer science or equivalent.
  • Windows Designation would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of all Windows based software, Microsoft Access and Visual Basic.
  • Excellent knowledge of office organization and function.
  • Knowledge of programs and services of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.

Temporary Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Cornwall/Casselman offices

Description of Job:
The individual organizes and directs speech language pathology treatment for the English and French population and education programs for pre-school children up to the age of five years in accordance with CASLPO.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate from an accredited university in speech language pathology with eligibility for CASLPO membership.

Casual COVID Vaccinators

Location: Casual positions for the SD&G or P-R territories

Salary: $29.39 per hour with 12% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation pay

Description of Job:
The individuals will support the Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s Immunization Program by administering vaccines to residents of the EOHU area while managing client and clinic flow to ensure safe, efficient and effective care.

Qualifications:

  • Paramedics or paramedicine, medical, or pharmacy students or other as appropriate under a Medical Officer of Health Medical Directive. Will need to show appropriate documentation regarding professional designation or education.
  • Pertinent experience in a clinical setting.
  • Intramuscular injection experience.
  • Experience working with confidential information.
  • Experience completing client assessments and conducting health teaching.
  • Effective subjective and physical assessment skills to monitor adverse reactions.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.                     
  • Good communication skills in English and French is considered an asset, with demonstrated ability to share information clearly and concisely.
