Unlock the Potential of Food During Nutrition Month

2019-03-01

March is Nutrition Month, and registered dietitians at the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) are encouraging you to unlock the potential of food with their help. Whether you’re looking for guidance to treat or prevent a chronic disease like diabetes or hypertension, or are simply looking for tips to improve your family’s eating habits, registered dietitians in your community are here to help!

Grocery Store Tours

Shopping wisely and buying healthy foods at the grocery store will set you on the path to improving your eating habits. That’s why registered dietitians at the EOHU offer tours at your local grocery store. They go through the store’s aisles with you and answer any nutrition-related questions you may have. They’ll also show you how to properly read food labels and provide you with tips on how to eat well while saving money.

“Our clients are impressed with the tours because even if they have been grocery shopping for years, they always come out learning something new,” says Jessica Lefebvre, Public Health Dietitian at the EOHU.

The tours are offered free of charge and you can register by calling 613-933-1375 or 1 800 267-7120.
